Can I use the toilets on course?
As per rule 4. On the website , racers are allowed to stop at restrooms along the race route. At this time, you can also fill up your water flasks. However, it is advisable to use the restrooms at the startline and also to bring a small soft flask on course to avoid making unnecessary stops.
Can I add more crew prior to the event?
Yes, you can add up to 3 crew members through the duration of your race. Only one crew member can support at a time; no overlap of crew members.
Can I share crew with another racer?
Yes, crew can be shared amongst 2 racers, which means there may be a maximum of 2 crew supporting 2 racers at any one time. These arrangements need to be registered with the race organisers, and we will ensure that the racer areas are next to each other for this purpose.
Can I order more crew tee shirts after I have registered for the event?
Yes. Additional crew tee shirts can be ordered up to 3 weeks before the event date (October 17, 2020). Any orders after this date will not be accepted.
Will the startline have staggered times to accommodate groups of 5?
No. All racers will go off at the same time. Social distancing measures will be explained at the race briefing and will be set in place. All racers will have adequate distance in between each other at the startline in accordance with SportSG safe distancing recommendations. DFLBU racers will start at the same time as the other participants around the globe.
Are spectators welcome?
No, this is a closed event. All spectators are encouraged to watch the LIVE global broadcast via a shared ZOOM link operated out of Canada for this satellite event. The link will be shared with all participants and on our social media channels prior to the event.
Will there be a race day medic on site?
No. We will have a first aid kit to help with minor injuries. You will be responsible for tending to your own issues such as blisters and minor injuries, although our crew is First Aid certified and will be able to assist where necessary. Any racer requiring urgent medical attention will be directed to the nearest 24 hour clinic or hospital. DFLBU organisers will facilitate as much as possible, the safety and well-being of all participants remains a priority.

Will I receive a refund if I have to drop out of the event?
As stated under our T & C’s, there will be no refunds or transfers offered. Because this event is small in nature due to the current pandemic situation, we are unable to offer refunds because of the high costs incurred for the planning and execution of a successful and safe event.
If you have to withdraw your entry, we will offer your slot to another runner on the waitlist, and will be able to refund you if the runner accepts the slot. Refunds will be minus a 12% admin feed as charged by the registration site.
Where can I park my car?
As stated in the DFLBU Rules, the startline is situated in a residential area and we advise that while street parking is available, it should be done with consideration for the local residents.
Taxi/ride sharing/ public transportation are all viable options for travel to and from the event. Address: 1 Jln Saudara Ku (Fabian William Coaching Concepts)
If I am the last person standing, can I continue running (virtually) with the other global runners?
No. As stated by Laz:
“A backyard race just cannot work virtually. without being able to look each other in the eye (or to sneak a look when you think they don't know) it just doesn't work..”
The last person standing in Singapore, will be crowned the victor of the DFLBU and will receive the Golden Coin (Golden Ticket) for the 2021 Big’s Backyard Championships in Tennessee.
Should each participant bring an umbrella to provide shade or shelter from rain?
No. DFLBU organisers and FWCC will have tents set up providing shelter from the sun and rain. Racer designated areas will all be under shelter throughout the duration of their participation in the race. We will endeavour to provide image updates for your planning.
How can I order the nutrition pack offered by RDRC? When will I receive this?
We will share information regarding the Tailwind entitlements and RDRC discounted nutrition packs via email to the participants. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience!
What will be included in the RDRC nutrition pack?
RDRC will offer 30% off all nutrition for registered runners from 17 Sep to 22 Oct (in case anything needs to be purchased during the event by crew) This includes Tailwind Nutrition, Unived, Veloforte, Overstim.s, Mag-On, Muir Energy and CrampFix.
Runners are also entitled to a one time discount of 20% off most brands in store, terms and conditions apply.

Will a list of participants be shared prior to the event?

What measures have been put in place in response to the updated August 26, 2020 SportSG Phase 2: Advisory For Resumption Of Sport And Physical Exercise & Activity (“Safe Transition”)?
We have taken into consideration the safe management plans for DFLBU to ensure all social distancing, health and safety regulations are met.
Included in this are:
implementation of Safe Entry QR Code to support contact tracing
masks as a default - mandatory masks for all staff and crew and racers before and after the event
physical distancing of 2 arms lengths between participants / crew and other racers
implementation of temperature screening
no sharing of common equipment or food/nutrition and hydration
implementation of cleaning protocols where necessary
start/finish line will be managed with safe distancing practices at all times (2 arms lengths between racers at base camp and on the course)
Are there volunteer opportunities for friends or family members who would like to help out on or before race day?

Are racers able to order food to the Start | Finish | Crew area during the event?
No problem with food delivery during the event. We will have an allocated table/drop zone for delivery so it'll be contactless.
Please make sure your crew retrieves your food, as delivery drivers cannot enter the Start/Finish/Crew area.
Is listening to music/podcasts/audio books with ear phones allowed while running the loop?
Yes. But, please ensure you are aware of your surroundings and other runners, pedestrians, bikers on the path. If you are staying safe and alert, feel free to listen away!
