Terms & Conditions

BEACH BACKYARD ULTRA 2026

ENTRY TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Entry Terms & Conditions apply to all registrations for Beach Backyard Ultra 2026 (the “Event”), organised by Fatburd Events LLP (“FatBurd Events”, “we”, “us” or the “Organiser”).

By registering for the Event, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, the published Event Rules, and the Participation Agreement & Waiver.

Participants are responsible for reading and understanding all applicable terms, rules and Event information before participating.

1. ENTRY AND REGISTRATION

An entry is confirmed only when:

  • registration has been completed;

  • all required information has been provided;

  • the applicable entry fee has been paid in full; and

  • where applicable, any additional eligibility or approval requirements have been satisfied.

Entries are subject to availability and may close before the published registration deadline if the Event or a category reaches capacity.

Participants must register using their own name and provide accurate and complete information.

FatBurd Events reserves the right to request proof of identity, age or eligibility.

Entries may not be sold, exchanged or transferred except through the official transfer process described below.

Participating using another person’s registration or bib without an approved transfer is not permitted.

FatBurd Events may refuse or cancel an entry where false, incomplete or misleading information has been supplied.

2. EVENT CATEGORIES

Participants are responsible for selecting an Event category appropriate to their experience, fitness and ability.

Event categories, distances, formats and eligibility requirements are published separately on the Event website.

Entry into a category does not guarantee that a participant will complete that category, any particular number of yards or any particular distance.

Participants wishing to change category must contact FatBurd Events.

Category changes are subject to:

  • availability;

  • eligibility requirements;

  • applicable administration fees; and

  • any difference in entry price.

Where a participant changes to a lower-priced category, no refund of the difference will normally be provided.

3. AGE AND ELIGIBILITY

Participants must satisfy the age and eligibility requirements applicable to their chosen Event category.

Participants under 18 years of age are subject to the Event’s published Under-18 Participation Policy and require prior approval from FatBurd Events.

Where required, a parent or legal guardian must:

  • provide written consent;

  • complete the applicable Participation Agreement & Waiver; and

  • comply with any supervision requirements imposed by FatBurd Events.

Payment of an entry fee does not guarantee acceptance of an under-18 participant.

FatBurd Events may refuse, restrict or impose additional conditions on the participation of a person under 18 where reasonably considered necessary for safety or welfare.

4. ENTRY FEES

All entry fees are stated in Singapore Dollars unless otherwise indicated.

Applicable GST, booking fees, transaction fees or registration platform charges will be shown during registration where relevant.

Promotional discounts or promotional codes must be applied at the time of registration and cannot normally be applied retrospectively.

Entry fees relate to participation in the Event and do not guarantee:

  • completion of the Event;

  • completion of any particular distance or number of yards;

  • a particular finishing position;

  • continued participation where the participant is withdrawn for safety or medical reasons; or

  • any specific Event conditions, route or duration.

5. REFUND POLICY

Entry fees are non-refundable where a participant withdraws or is unable to participate for any reason, except where expressly provided in these Terms.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • injury;

  • illness;

  • medical conditions;

  • travel disruption;

  • work or personal commitments;

  • change of plans;

  • failure to attend;

  • failure to collect a race pack;

  • failure to satisfy participation requirements; or

  • disqualification or withdrawal from the Event.

Pregnancy

Where a registered participant is unable to participate due to pregnancy, FatBurd Events will provide a refund of the Event entry fee.

The participant must contact FatBurd Events before the Event and may be asked to provide reasonable supporting information.

Pregnancy entries will not be deferred to a future edition.

Registration platform fees, payment processing charges or other third-party charges may be excluded from the refund where these amounts are non-refundable to FatBurd Events.

Except for pregnancy or where otherwise expressly stated in these Terms, FatBurd Events may consider exceptional circumstances at its discretion, but no participant is automatically entitled to a refund.

Any discretionary arrangement does not create an entitlement or precedent for other participants.

6. ENTRY TRANSFERS

Participants who are unable to attend may transfer their entry to another person.

The deadline for all entry transfers is:

10 October 2026 at 11:59pm Singapore time.

No transfers will be accepted after this deadline.

The original participant is responsible for finding their own replacement.

FatBurd Events does not:

  • maintain a waiting list for transfers unless specifically stated;

  • find replacement participants;

  • broker payments between participants; or

  • accept responsibility for private arrangements between the outgoing and incoming participant.

Any payment or reimbursement between the original participant and replacement participant is entirely their own arrangement.

All transfers must be completed through the official Event registration process.

A transfer is not valid until it has been successfully completed and confirmed by the Event registration system or FatBurd Events.

The incoming participant must:

  • meet all Event eligibility requirements;

  • complete their own registration details;

  • accept the Event Terms & Conditions;

  • complete the required Participation Agreement & Waiver; and

  • pay the applicable transfer fee.

The transfer administration fee is S$40.

Entries transferred outside the official process are invalid.

FatBurd Events reserves the right to refuse a transfer where the incoming participant does not satisfy the applicable requirements.

7. DEFERRALS

Entries cannot be deferred to a future edition of Beach Backyard Ultra.

This includes withdrawals due to injury, illness, pregnancy, travel disruption, work commitments or other personal circumstances.

Where pregnancy applies, the refund provisions in Section 5 will apply instead.

8. NO-SHOWS

Participants who do not attend the Event or fail to start their registered category will be treated as a no-show.

No refund, deferral or transfer will be provided after the applicable transfer deadline, except where the pregnancy provisions in Section 5 apply.

9. EVENT CHANGES

FatBurd Events reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the Event where necessary for safety, legal, regulatory, venue, environmental or operational reasons.

Changes may include, but are not limited to:

  • course or route;

  • Event venue;

  • Event start time;

  • timetable;

  • start procedures;

  • category format;

  • course distance;

  • participant numbers;

  • Event duration;

  • aid or refreshment arrangements;

  • facilities;

  • access arrangements; or

  • other Event operations.

A reasonable modification to the Event does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund.

10. WEATHER AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Beach Backyard Ultra is an outdoor endurance event.

Participants should prepare for potentially challenging weather and environmental conditions, including:

  • heat;

  • humidity;

  • rain;

  • thunderstorms;

  • lightning;

  • wet or slippery surfaces; and

  • changing conditions throughout the Event.

The Event may continue in rain, heat or other normal tropical conditions.

FatBurd Events may:

  • delay a start;

  • alter a course;

  • temporarily suspend participation;

  • shorten or modify the Event; or

  • stop the Event

where conditions are considered unsafe.

Participants are not entitled to a refund solely because weather or environmental conditions are uncomfortable, adverse or different from expected.

11. POSTPONEMENT

Where the Event is postponed to a new date rather than cancelled, registrations will normally be transferred automatically to the rescheduled date.

FatBurd Events will communicate the applicable arrangements to participants as soon as reasonably practicable.

A postponement does not automatically constitute cancellation of the Event.

Where a participant cannot attend the rescheduled date, any refund entitlement will be determined in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the postponement.

12. EVENT CANCELLATION

Where Beach Backyard Ultra 2026 is cancelled and does not proceed on either the original or a rescheduled date, registered participants will be eligible for a refund of the applicable Event entry fee.

Refunds will be processed as soon as reasonably practicable following confirmation of the cancellation.

FatBurd Events will not provide Event credits in place of a cancellation refund.

Registration platform fees, payment processing charges or other third-party fees may be excluded from the refund where those amounts are non-refundable to FatBurd Events.

Participants will be informed of the refund process and any applicable deductions following cancellation.

13. FORCE MAJEURE AND CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL

FatBurd Events may modify, postpone, suspend or cancel the Event due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • extreme weather;

  • lightning;

  • flooding;

  • haze;

  • natural disaster;

  • terrorism;

  • civil unrest;

  • war;

  • major utility failure;

  • major transport disruption;

  • emergency services requirements; or

  • other circumstances making the Event unsafe, unlawful or impracticable.

Where such circumstances result in a modification, delay or temporary suspension but the Event still proceeds, participants will not automatically be entitled to a refund.

Where such circumstances result in the Event being cancelled entirely, the cancellation refund provisions in Section 12 will apply.

Nothing in this clause affects rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. FITNESS AND PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY

Participants enter the Event voluntarily and are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically capable of participating.

Participants are responsible for:

  • preparing and training appropriately;

  • monitoring their own physical condition;

  • bringing suitable equipment;

  • managing their hydration and nutrition;

  • following Event safety instructions; and

  • withdrawing if they are unable to continue safely.

15. MEDICAL AND SAFETY WITHDRAWAL

FatBurd Events, the Race Director, medical personnel or other authorised Event personnel may prevent a participant from starting or require a participant to stop where reasonably considered necessary for safety or welfare.

Reasons may include:

  • heat-related illness;

  • impaired judgment;

  • unsafe behaviour;

  • inability to continue safely;

  • failure to comply with Event instructions; or

  • another medical or safety concern.

Participants must comply immediately with any such direction.

Withdrawal or removal for medical or safety reasons does not entitle the participant to a refund.

19. PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT AND WAIVER

All participants must accept and complete the Event Participation Agreement & Waiver.

Where a participant is under 18, the required parent or legal guardian declaration must also be completed.

Failure to complete the required documentation may result in the participant being unable to start.

No refund will be provided where a participant fails or refuses to complete mandatory Event documentation.

20. RACE PACK COLLECTION

Race pack collection information will be communicated before the Event.

Participants are responsible for collecting their race pack in accordance with the published arrangements.

FatBurd Events may require identification or other proof of registration at collection.

Where collection by another person is permitted, the participant may be required to provide written authorisation.

Race-day collection may not be available unless specifically stated.

Failure to collect a race pack does not entitle the participant to a refund.

21. EVENT MERCHANDISE

Where merchandise is included with registration or purchased separately:

  • sizes and designs are subject to availability;

  • requested sizing cannot always be guaranteed;

  • product specifications or designs may change where reasonably necessary;

  • merchandise may become non-refundable once production has commenced; and

  • uncollected merchandise will not automatically be mailed to the participant.

Where FatBurd Events agrees to mail uncollected merchandise, postage and administration charges may apply.

Any specific merchandise deadlines or collection arrangements will be communicated separately.
